CAPITOL ENTERTAINMENT SERVICES DESIGNATED AS
PART OF WHITE HOUSE MILLENNIUM CELEBRATION


Washington - The United States Department of Commerce's office of Tourism Industries announced that "Duke Ellington's Neighborhood Tour", "The African-American Heritage Tour" and "The Anacostia Different Voices ... Different Views Tour", three cultural heritage tours offered by Capitol Entertainment Services, Inc. (CES) were designated as official American Pathways 2000 itineraries. These three popular itineraries offered by CES were are among 74 tours selected from 127 tours that were submitted from around the country. As part of the nation's millennium celebration, the CES designated itineraries will be posted on the official American Pathways 2000 web page, sponsored by Alamo-Rent-A-Car at http://www.americanpathways.com.

American Pathways 2000 is a part of the White House Millennium Program, led by First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton, and was created to encourage the development and marketing of American cultural heritage products and services.

"American Pathways 2000 is designed to share with the world many of the diverse American stories which are the heart and soul of the very image of the United States. It is a celebration of our democracy, which encourages and supports individuality and freedom. "Duke Ellington's Neighborhood Tour", "The African-American Heritage Tour" and the "Anacostia Different Voices ... Different Views Tour" are part of that American experience, and help support this nation's efforts to ensure an American travel experience that is second to none", says Leslie R. Doggett, deputy assistant secretary of commerce for tourism industries.

The three CES cultural itineraries were selected for their interpretation of the "I Have a Dream" theme. Capitol Entertainment Services' "Duke Ellington's Neighborhood Tour" explores the historic Shaw neighborhood where the legendary "Duke" Ellington lived. "The African-American Heritage Tour" has among its highlights, the Frederick Douglass National Historic Site and the African-American Civil War Memorial. "The Anacostia Different Voices ... Different Views Tour" brings to life the different cultural mosaics of the historical Anacostia neighborhood.

American Pathways 2000 is a public-private project organized by the Office of Tourism Industries in the US. Department of Commerce, the National Tour Association, the American Bus Association, the Receptive Services Association, The U.S. Tour Operators Association and the International Association of Convention and Visitor Bureaus. The travel and tourism industry is the country's largest service exporter. In 1998, 46.4 million international visitors came to the United States spending $91,3 billion which created a trade surplus for the United States of $19 billion.
