Blue Chocobos (Shallow water Chocobos)
This type of Chocobo can not be caught. It must be breed at the Chocobo Ranch.To breed this type of Chocobo you need a Yellow GREAT Chocobo,  male or female, and
a Yellow OKAY Chocobo of the opposite gender. You must also have the Carob Nut, which
is stolen from a monster that you encounter just south of bone village (on the
same continent, just directly south of the village, in the grassy plains). The
monster is called Vlakorados. By breeding the Male GREAT Chocobo with the OKAY Female Chocobo (with the Carob Nut), you get either the blue or green Chocobo, and by doing the opposite, a Male OKAY Chocobo with a Female GREAT chocobo, you get the other type of Chocobo.
 
 

 Green Chocobos (Mountain Chocobos)
This is  the same as breeding a BLUE Chocobo. See above!
 
Black Chocobos (mountains and shallow water)
To get  a Black Chocobo, you need to breed a Green Chocobo with a Blue
Chocobo (male and a female) by using a Carob Nut (the same Nut used to breed a
Green and Blue Chocobo).

 Gold Chocobos (Perfect Chocobos, they can go anywhere on the map ,even the ocean)
In order to get the Gold Chocobo, you need to breed a Black Chocobo with an S-
Class Chocobo using the Zeio Nut (which is found on the island with the forest in
the Top Right part of the world map). To get the Zeio Nut, you need to find a
Goblin (in the Top Right part of the map, in the forest area) and steal one from
them. Goblins are EASY to beat.
    You can also get a Gold Chocobo by defeating the RUBY WEAPON (in the
desert area near the Gold Saucer on DISC 3), and trading the item you get from
it (Desert Rose) for a Gold Chocobo from the Kalm Traveler.
 
 

                                                    Chocobo Racing

To win the races you need to feed your chocobo’s about 11 Sylkis Greens. You can buy these from the Chocobo Sensei located on the northern continent, (The Snowy One). After you feed your Chocobo, the greens head over to the Gold Saucer. When you are at the Gold Saucer, you might want to buy a Gold ticket, the price is 30,000 Gil, you can buy one from the girl outside the Gold Saucer. It’s a lifetime pass to the Gold Saucer. Then go to the Chocobo Square and talk to the girl on the far-left side of the screen. When she asks you if you want to race on a long or short course, you should always say , you want the short one. When you are in the race, press the select button on your control pad to switch to manual mode.
    Hold R1, R2 and square at the same time. This makes you go faster and your stamina will not decrease.
    Hold R1, R2, L1 and L2 at the same time. This makes your stamina go up.
